Dr Zunera Zareen's institution has a grant approved by The National Children's Hospital Funding committee to support her research project titled "Childhood assessment of multiorgan dysfunction post neonatal encephalopathy". This review is a part of her PhD thesis and the above project and grant will cover post‐doctoral scientist salary, PhD fees, expenses for lab equipments, consumables, travel expenses for meetings or conferences, etc.

Professor Eleanor J Molloy's (EJM) institution received a grant for this review from the National Children's Research Centre (NCRC). EJM is a NCRC board member but receives no payment. EJM attended a meeting in February 2016 covering topics in neonatology through invitation from Chiesi, who paid for her travel and accommodation.

El uso y la enseñanza del modelo PICO están muy extendidos en el ámbito de la atención sanitaria basada en la evidencia para formular preguntas y estrategias de búsqueda y para caracterizar estudios o metanálisis clínicos. PICO son las siglas en inglés de cuatro posibles componentes de una pregunta de investigación: paciente, población o problema; intervención; comparación; desenlace (outcome).
