This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:

The primary objective of this study is to systematically review the effect of surgical interventions for IBD on female fertility and to investigate whether these procedures result in a post‐operative reduction in fertility. Secondly, we will evaluate the impact of surgical interventions on the use of assisted reproductive technologies (ART), both hormonal and mechanical, and outcomes of pregnancy including, miscarriage, stillbirth, prematurity, mode of delivery (spontaneous vaginal, instrumental vaginal, or Cesarean section), ICU admission and birth weight.
