Pharmacological therapy for idiopathic lumbosacral plexopathy

Protocol

Differences between protocol and review

Our prespecified methods for data collection, 'Risk of bias' assessment and data analysis were not required owing to the lack of trial data. For the same reason we did not create a 'Summary of findings' table.

We added a clarification that we carried out study selection without considering whether or not the studies reported our prespecified outcomes.

We searched SIGLE, LILACS, ISI WoS and trials registries, which were additional to the searches specified in the protocol.

The published protocol was entitled 'Pharmacological therapy for idiopathic lumbosacral plexopathy' (van Eijk 2012). We revised it to the more specific 'Immunotherapy for idiopathic lumbosacral plexopathy' because the focus of the review was immunotherapy and we did not plan to review other treatments, such as pain relief.

Notes

New trials in this condition are infrequent. The next update of this review will therefore be scheduled four years after the current date of search rather than the usual two years. If evidence emerges before then, an earlier update will be scheduled.
