Notes

The original review: Beds, mattresses and cushions for preventing and treating pressure ulcers. Cullum N, Deeks J, Sheldon TA, Song F, Fletcher AW, has been substantially updated and now forms the basis of a prevention review and a separate treatment review. The review: Support surfaces for pressure ulcer prevention is published in the Cochrane Library (McInnes 2011).

This review: Support surfaces for treating pressure ulcers has been prepared by Elizabeth McInnes, Sally EM Bell‐Syer, Jo C Dumville, Asmara Jammali‐Blasi and includes only trials which consider interventions which aim to treat pressure ulcers. The title of the review has been changed to more accurately reflect the scope of the review.

PICO

Population

Comparison
Outcome
