Route of antibiotic prophylaxis for prevention of cerebrospinal fluid‐shunt infection
Abstract
This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:
To determine the effect of different routes of antibiotic prophylaxis (i.e. oral, intravenous, intrathecal, topical and via antibiotic‐impregnated shunt catheters) on CSF‐shunt infection rates in individuals treated for hydrocephalus using internalised CSF shunts.
