This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:

To assess the efficacy and safety of adding anticholinergics to β₂‐agonists as inhaled or nebulized therapy in children hospitalised for an acute asthma exacerbation. Moreover, we wish to investigate the characteristics of patients or therapy, if any, that would influence the magnitude of response attributable to the addition of anticholinergics.
