This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:

To assess the role of iridectomy/ iridotomy in the prevention of acute angle‐closure (AAC) or primary angle‐closure (PAC) (as defined in Table 1) in
(1) contralateral eyes of individuals who had an AAC;
(2) eyes with narrow /occludable angles (PAC suspect).
