This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:

To provide reliable evidence regarding the effects of tongue scraping (mechanical cleaning) versus other interventions (including mouthwashes) to control halitosis.

The following null hypothesis will be tested: there is no difference between tongue scraping and other interventions (including mouthwashes) for the control of halitosis.
