This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows:

The specific objectives of this review are to determine the effects of providing recordings of consultations to parents of NICU babies on information recall and understanding, participation in subsequent consultations and psychological outcome. A further objective will be to determine the influence of such factors as neonatal variables (e.g. gestation, outcome), parental variables (e.g. age, marital status, parity, race) and intensity of intervention ( e.g. number of recordings).
